John W. “Wally” Dant, Executive Chairman

Wally brings an extensive home care and hospital management background to myNEXUS. Most recently, he was the Chief Executive Officer of SunCrest Healthcare, developing this home care and hospice company from start-up to $100 million in value, selling to Almost Family, Inc. in December, 2013. Previously he was a director with Navigant Consulting, a leading healthcare consulting firm. Prior to Navigant, Mr. Dant served as senior vice president-operations for HCA’s home care operations at the time when HCA had more than 400 home care locations generating over $1 billion in revenue.

Mr. Dant also has an extensive background with hospital operations and managed care contracting, having worked for both hospital management and insurance companies. Mr. Dant holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Louisville. Wally also serves on the Foundation Board of the largest non-profit senior services organization in middle Tennessee, Fifty-Forward.

Juan Vallarino, Vice Chairman

Mr. Vallarino has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry. He has held key management roles in various sectors of the industry, physician practice management, institutional providers, and health care insurance companies, as well as his own consulting practice.

Mr. Vallarino spent 21 years with HCA and its predecessor companies. Most recently he served as Vice President of Employer & Payer Engagement for HCA with responsibility for over $30 billion in net revenues. During his tenure with HCA, he has held positions in Government Programs Compliance, Home Health Services and Physician Management Services. Prior to HCA, Mr. Vallarino served as Senior Vice President of Development for FPA Medical Management.

Mr. Vallarino is the Vice Chairman of myNEXUS, having previously served the company in a strategic advisor role since its inception.

Mr. Vallarino currently serves on the board of Castlewood Treatment Centers and serves as a strategic advisor to several healthcare companies.

Mr. Vallarino also serves on the Board of the Grameen Foundation, a globally renowned organization focus on addressing poverty.

Mr. Vallarino holds an MBA from Rutgers University.

McArthur VanOsdale, President, CEO

McArthur co-founded myNEXUS after extensive entrepreneurial experience in developing and managing services and technology platforms across healthcare. Prior to myNEXUS, McArthur served as Chief Development Officer for SunCrest Healthcare where he successfully developed SunCrest into one of the top 10 in-home providers nationally. Previously, McArthur co-founded Harpeth Consulting, a management consulting and strategic advisory firm. Through his leadership, Harpeth exceeded a 70% year-over-year growth rate servicing payer, provider and technology clients.

McArthur also served in various senior level roles for AIM Healthcare and Navigant Consulting focused on technology enabled cost containment services for payers & providers. Through his experience in healthcare, McArthur specializes in home care operations, telehealth & post-acute alignment partnerships, payer claims technology, data mining, revenue cycle technology, managed care contracting, and hospital operations.

McArthur is a major supporter of the local Middle Tennessee community as a Board Member of the Nashville Zoo, KIPP Nashville, and as a Commercial Real Estate Developer through his Company, V2 Capital.


Matthew Chance, Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer Matt is responsible for providing strategic direction, product innovation, and valuebased network models within the delivery system. Prior to joining myNEXUS Matt provided strategic and operational oversight for all Health Engagement Initiatives for Cigna-Healthspring. These areas include Stars, Risk Adjustment, Utilization Management, Clinical Programs and Customer retention. These activities drove revenue and quality optimization related to all Medicare Advantage customers based on their unique needs. Matt worked with HealthSpring for 9 years, and was the COO of Healthspring of Alabama before moving to Cigna-HealthSpring enterprise operations. While in Alabama he helped develop various aligned incentive models to better connect the Healthplan and Provider community. Matt began his career in healthcare working with Hospitals and Insurers at AIM Healthcare Services. He lead operations for the Southeast region and was with AIM for 5 years.

Martee J. Harris, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CCP, Chief Administrative Officer

Martee brings more than 25 years of experience in human resources across several industries. She was most recently the Senior Vice President, Human Resources/Chief Administrative Officer with SunCrest Healthcare. Previously, she was the VP, Human Resources for Essent Healthcare, a regional hospital company. She is responsible for leading human resources, licensure, facilities management and myNEXUS’ charitable engagement activities.

Martee attended Tennessee Tech University and received her BBA from Wichita State University and her MBA from Tennessee State University. She has a lifetime Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification and is a Certified Compensation Professional. She has served on the boards of the American Red Cross and Alive Hospice.

Niraj Patel M.D., Sr. Medical Director

Dr. Patel serves as a Senior Medical Director for myNEXUS. He has more than 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry in both clinical delivery and managed care. He has practiced in various clinical settings in the fields of internal, emergency, occupational and geriatric medicine. During this time, he has had the opportunity to be a member on various hospital committees while serving in leadership roles as a Medical Director within many healthcare systems and national organizations such as ECI, Emcare and Team Health.

Dr. Patel’s managed care experience includes serving as the National Medical Director for United Healthcare within the Optum and UMR divisions, where he worked in utilization and disease management, care coordination, transition of care, complex case review, and overall population health. Most recently, he served as the Chief Medical Director for UMR where he partnered with senior level executives, clinical managers, and operational staff to optimize clinical and business solutions to meet performance guarantees, develop clinical quality initiatives, and manage population health and internal ROI goals. He was also responsible for client reporting, and program and benefit plan review according to NCQA and URAC standards for the overall UMR book of business.

Dr. Patel holds an MD from Ross University and an Master’s in Health Administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill with a focus in Population Health and Analytics. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Pam Hursh, RN, MBA, SVP Care Management

Pamela’s career has focused on creating a continuum of offerings that enable individuals to maintain their health and independence while living and aging in their homes. A nurse by background, Pamela brings 25 years of experience working within major multi-payer health plans and managed care providers to develop and deliver cutting edge products. Her clinical operations experience and payer expertise will be essential to further development and delivery of post-acute services to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.

Most recently, Pamela has held Senior Vice President Positions with Lifesprk and Univita. She has also held numerous progressive roles for United Health Group, including Vice President of Strategic Account Services and Client Implementation. She holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, a BS in Management from Cardinal Stritch University and Ripon College and a nursing degree from Fairview Deaconess School of Nursing and Augsburg College.

Scott Vasey, SVP, Network & Business Development

Scott’s career comprises 25 years of involvement with Health Insurance, Health Services, and Post-Acute Provider organizations. Scott was instrumental in the development and management of care delivery systems with United Healthcare and UPMC. While with Optum he was responsible for designing and implementing products that improved quality and affordability for Health Insurance customers, back office operations, and value-based relationships between insurers and ACOs. Most recently, as SVP of Strategy, at Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY), the largest not-for-profit Homecare Agency in the United States, Scott, an industry pioneer, led a corporate transformation to value-based care models. In this role, he also led VNSNY’s managed care contracting, customer/partner solution development, enterprise performance improvement, innovation, and government program strategy including, grants, NY DSRIP PPS programs, and CMS bundled payments.

In addition to his corporate roles, Scott is a distinguished panel speaker in the Post-Acute-Care arena focusing on value-based relationships and risk-based quality driven platforms, and has been featured in the Visiting Nurse Association of America (now Elevating Home) and National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) events, as well as New York State home care, post-acute, and care management symposia.

Scott holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh where he also did post graduate work in Social Work and Law. He has earned his Six Sigma Black Belt and is Lean Certified.

Chris Crabtree, SVP Operations

Chris is a successful executive leader who has experience in both starting/growing healthcare service companies and also leading divisions for the largest payer in the country. Most recently he served as Executive Director in the Optum division for UnitedHealth Group. In this capacity he was responsible for day to day ISNP operations for the state of Tennessee and also charged with overseeing OTA nationwide operations for INSPIRIS when it was acquired by Optum. Prior to UnitedHealth, Chris was the COO of NaviHealth. He was charged with building out all headquarter and field operations while implementing the new care management model in multiple states. Before joining NaviHealth, Chris was the Executive Vice President of Operations for MedSolutions. Serving as the highest ranking operations leader, Mr. Crabtree led all day to day servicing activities through the company’s tremendous growth to become one of the country’s largest radiology benefits management companies. As a result, MedSolutions call centers earned recognition from J.D.Power and Associates for “An Outstanding Customer Service Experience” in healthcare four consecutive times. Mr. Crabtree holds a bachelor’s degree in Science from Elon University and an MBA from Averett University.

Jonathan Davis, Chief Financial Officer

Jonathan brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance/accounting and operations management. Before joining myNexus, Jonathan was CFO of the Medicare line of business for Humana, Inc. (Humana), one of the nation’s leading Medicare Advantage plans.

Prior to joining Humana, Jonathan served as the CFO for the Alabama market for Cigna HealthSpring (AL, MS and N. FL). In these roles he was accountable for financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, the annual Medicare Advantage product bidding process, data management/analytics, operational/clinical reporting and financial planning and analysis. Prior to Cigna HealthSpring, Jonathan held several operational and financial management roles with United Healthcare over a 10-year period.

As the CFO, Jonathan is responsible for leading all areas of accounting and finance, including financial planning and analysis, claims management, general accounting, billing and collections, payroll, and accounts payable. Jonathan received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and M.B.A from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Tennessee and Alabama.”

Steve Wise, Chief Information Officer

Steve is 40-year healthcare technology veteran who has been both a Senior Executive at nationally recognized healthcare companies as well as a start-up entrepreneur. As Chief Information Officer with MedSolutions Inc., Steve was responsible for leading and delivering an IT strategy which established a #1 market position and enabled company growth from $34 million to well over $250 million. Steve successfully created and implemented a vision utilizing web based applications which led to organizational efficiency, self-service functionality for physician-based practices and high levels of customer satisfaction for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare clients.

Prior to joining MedSolutions, Steve successfully led the start-up IT consulting firm and was CIO for NovaCare where he led the strategy and delivery of a clinical-based management system which provided clinicians, customers and managers with information needed to manage their practices. This system generated 8% market share increase and led to closing of 60% of new sales annually. Steve graduated from Purdue University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology.
